SYNOPSIS #1 (200 WORDS)
In a time when Hillary is running for the White House and Paris Hilton
is burning up the celebrity scene, comes a film that asks what women
really want: Running in High Heels.
Following the last months of one young woman’s
comically inept run for State Senate in New York’s 29th District,
Running in High Heels illustrates the controversy between what women
say they want and the contradictions of how they go and get
it. Issues of sex, money and politics are
argued by notable women from the right and left of the American
political spectrum, ranging from conservative stalwart Phyllis Schlafly
to liberal educator Rosalind Wiseman, whose book, Queen Bees and
Wannabees, became the basis for the movie “Mean
Girls”.
With their divergent takes these women reveal how
women can simultaneously be the majority of the population (at 52%) and
an utter minority in the worlds of wealth and power.
This provocative documentary clearly illustrates how divided women
really are when it comes to their femininity and their ambition as it
answers the question of “How far women can go if they’re
‘Running in High Heels’?”
