Femcha Meets Pamplona in Amsterdam

When Maryann Breschard named her political documentary "Running in High Heels" it was supposed to be a METAPHOR. However, women have often proved that they will use their freedom and power to do stupid things to prove their femininity as men sometimes do stupid things prove their masculinity. Hence, we have the Stiletto Run.

The third annual "run" was held yesterday in Amsterdam. This year was marked by some Dutch doctors issuing warnings in advance that running in high heels is dangerous (really?) and only women who have properly trained (whatever that is) should attempt it as high heels are specifically designed to be difficult to run in (double duh!).

When one sees the pictures of those Dutch gals striding with fear and speed down the street, it's hard not to think that the event is missing something -- like those friendly bulls the boys have in their run in Pamplona.

Maybe next year the EU can get on this for a combo event. Hopefully the Nike Air Manolo will be out by then. And this year's runners will be allowed to compete even if they still have pins in their ankles.

As for the U.S., if Hillary would agree to run backwards, perhaps we can settle the battle between Clinton and Obama in a way that doesn't include super-delegates.
